A&P and Pathmark May Lack Synergies

A&P’s common ties with Pathmark are not particularly vast, and ones that exist do not lend themselves to possible synergies between the firms.  As the diagram below illustrates, the executives of A&P (red lines) have many intersections with the board members of Pathmark (blue), but there are only a few cases when executives of these companies share common connections, or board members share other board seats.

Several cases when synergies may exist because the board and executives shared respective roles in other engagements include:

* J Wayne Harris, who assumed board and executive responsibilities with A&P, has shared relationships with Warren Bryant, Robert Gerald Miller, John W Boyle, and Alexis P Michas, who assumed board seats for Pathmark.

* Craig C Sturken, who assumed board responsibilities in A&P, has intersected paths with James Moody, who was Hannaford’s CEO and a board member of Pathmark.
