Arrow and Teleflex Connection a Possible Factor in Merger

Screenhunter_02_sep_21_0734On Thursday shareholders for Arrow International Inc overwhelmingly approved the company’s anticipated merger with Teleflex Incorporated (see article from Yahoo! Finance).   We created an IntellectSpace Knowledge Map of the ties between these two companies and discovered one particular connection that may have been instrumental in finalizing this deal.

The Knowledge Map shows a clear and strong connection between Judith von Seldeneck (Director of Teleflex) and Marlin Miller Jr (Director of Arrow) through Corestates Financial.   Each served as a Director of the bank holding company until 1998, when it was acquired by First Union in 1998 .  It is likely that Seldeneck and Miller are well acquainted through this past connection, with the relationship proving to be influential in the merger between Arrow and Teleflex. We predict that this strong connection will also serve well to facilitate the transition now that the deal has been approved.
