Google Inc Shares a Network of Personal Connections with its New Health-Unit Rival RHG

(NewsVisual, powered by IntellectSpace) -- The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Google Inc (NASDAQ: GOOG) intends to launch as soon as today Google Health, “an online repository where consumers can store their health information,” said The Journal in its article.

Aside from Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT), Google’s main rival or competitor in this nascent field of online health-record services will be a Washington, DC-based startup company named Revolution Health Group LLC (RHG).  The company’s CEO/Chairman is Steve Case, the Co-Founder of America Online.

Significantly, NewsVisual has learned that Google and RHG share a network of personal connections among several members of the Board of Directors from the two companies.

To provide a behind-the-scenes peek into the personal affiliations of the companies’ boards, NewsVisual created an IntellectSpace Knowledge Map that shows the following realthionships:

Google Directors/Co-Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin are linked two via two axes, namely the World Economic Forum and Stanford University, to RHG Director Carly Fiorina, the former CEO/Chairman of Hewlett-Packard.

Likewise, Ms. Fiorina is linked via the latter axis to Google Director John L Hennessy, the President of Stanford University.

Given Ms. Fiorina’s strong connections to Silicon Valley and the University, it’s highly probably that she knows all three of these Google Directors quite well.

In addition to the aforementioned connecting axes, the Map illustrates another set of two more axes that link Google Director L John Doerr to two RHG Directors:

Mr. Doerr is connected to RHG Director Jim Barksdale via the Homestore Inc axis and the axis of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm in which Doerr is a General Partner and in which Barksdale serves as a Special Advisor, the Knowledge Map indicates.

Likewise, along the same axis of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Doerr is linked to RHG Director Colin Powell, the former United States Secretary of State and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, whom the Map shows is a Strategic Limited Partner with the venture capital firm.

Although it’s purely a matter of conjecture, it is nevertheless within the realm of the possible to interpret this network of personal connections between Google and RHG as being a foundation from which a future collaboration or deal could be built.

The two Google founders are also linked to me in that we all:

1) Are male
2) Went to school
3) Live in California

I'm going to be rich, soon.

Revolution Health Group won't be much competitition for Google.

RHG makes every mistake written about in the "Mythical Man Month" and they pay exorbitant fees to companies for content that people could easily get elsewhere for free.

Why would people pay $129 a month for something they could get for free?
